You ever experience one of those moments in your life where you're not exactly sure if what someone just told you is true, due to it's absolutely outlandish nature, or if it's a bunch of bull they're just spouting to get a rise out of you? Well I did just this last Sunday, and let me tell you, it wasn't bad.
But instead of trying to explain half way through, I'll start at the beginning.
My long time childhood friend Eric is a part time model and travels down to Seattle on a regular basis to do shoots at the studio. I'd never really seen what went on at a photo shoot, so last week he invited me to tag along with him and see what it was all about. The ride took about 2 hours and we still had a few before the shoot, so we walked around downtown and grabbed something to eat before finally arriving at the building. After being let in through the back entrance I was introduced to the photographer Carlos and ushered into the studio. There were several models including my friend who were scheduled for the shoot, but since we were the first ones to show they wasted no time in taking all the singles they needed of Eric.
About half way through Carlos realized that he needed someone to stand-in for a shot and after a moment he quickly walked over to me and, taking my arm, asked
me to step in for the other model. I was a little dumbfounded, but cooperated all the same (who wouldn't?!).
Finally, everyone else arrived and they began taking all the group shots for their script. Eventually, things ended with making plans for the next shoot and a pleasant farewell.
Happy with how the day turned out, I climbed into my friends car and quickly nodded off to catch a few Zs before we got back home and had to work (night shift : P). But about forty minutes into the trip home, I woke up and looked over to see my friend smiling at me. I asked him what was so funny, and he said "First, you smile when you sleep, so I took a picture and sent it to everyone haha. And second, Carlos just called me. He wants to offer you a job."
Needless to say, I was trying to decide if he was serious or just waving a sarcasm sandwich in from of my face.
Turns out... he wasn't. Carlos liked how well Eric and I interacted and the energy we had together so well that he wanted me to become part of the team (of models) and work part time doing shoots down in Seattle. This of course works perfectly considering that I'm moving there in two weeks and will only live about 20 minutes away! Surprised? I sure as hell was haha. Guess all that going to the gym is finally paying off

I don't really think this will be any sort of career, but for the time being it's fun as hell and doesn't pay bad either!
Oh, and for those of you who are wondering: No, it isn't an underwear modeling job. I know you wish it was, but believe me, the world will be the better off for it, lol.
